PDman says Stan Lee Cologne looks like an ad for dirty old men.(picture in another thread)
Leasure Suit Larry would wear what scent?
In an elevator I would spray what scent on a non bather.
What colognes remind you of someone a long time ago.
the lady in the commercial sprites the Viking s with what perfume.
what is the worst comment you ever made to a store clerk about a cologne?

I'll bite. I'm an Engineer and I almost never wear cologne, but on the rare occasions I do it is Clinique Chemistry. Only scent I can stand for more than a few minutes, although I have some Green Irish Tweed type shaving soap which makes me think I would like to try it out.

i'll play. i'm a carpenter. i have used chanel sport and bleu for a long while now. i'll go with worst comment about a cologne. a lady approached me at the mall a while back and asked me to give her my opinion on some scents. i'm 27. her choices for me to try were all the classic "old man smells". i asked her did she think i was preparing for my own funeral. not that this was a inappropriate comment or even that bad but the look on this lady's face was great. why would you approach a younger man with an older scent. dont get me wrong, i like some classic scents but jeez, most younger guys are lookin for gio or nautica. something along those lines. mind you i don't look 27 either. so it's not like i sport a full beard and look way older, i have a baby face. i dont know how long she would last there esp if you can't get the basic age group:cologne down.

Maybe a little hard on the perfume lady... I didn't know there were older and younger scents... I usually go for something that smells good to me...

What about Al Bundy going into a biker bar looking for a guy wearing Obsession For Men.
this is what I first thought of at the start and was wondering if anyone would recall it.
did not want to lead with it.

You should qualify that a little better... "old man scents" is pretty vague. And personally i have learned my lesson about what one might consider "old Man". Case in point - Eau Savage by Dior... The juice is older than I am, but I wore it yesterday and received many compliments from all the younger women I work with. To be fair the stuff is really classy/classic scent wise, and maybe a bit animalic. Green Irish Tweed is really old, and really good. Acqua di Parma Colonia (1916) really really old is a favorite among many here... just to name a few.

This even harder than thinking what to wear when at work. Some professions and places in combination dodge any kind of personality.

You know, this thread actually raises an important subject for people like myself who are in sales. The fragrance you wear can be a powerful tool. I manage 2000 accounts but have about 30 key accounts, which is a small enough number that I know the purchasers for those accounts, and I match the frag I wear to the purchaser I have an appointment with. The more the buyer enjoys the visit, the longer the visit lasts and the better the chance that you get a favorable result. I often get compliments on my fragrance selection, particularly when the buyer is female. Often enough that I'm convinced that it gives me an advantage.
