Master Brand Aftershaves

Anyone ever try the "Master" line of A/S? I just received four different fragrances (4 bottles) from Appleton Barber Supply. They seem like they are going to be great. Can't wait to try them. I will post the results as I try each fragrance. I did use the "Checker Flag" scent today and I loved the way it smelled and cooled my face. They are also not very expensive.

Excellent choice! I have almost all of the Master line, with the exception of Iceland Breeze. My favorites are Master Blue, which is like Aqua Velva Ice Blue on great smelling steroids, Champagne which is just really nice stuff, Topaz which has a nice pipe tobacco and spice aroma, and their Lilac Vegetol. It's different from "The Veg" in a good way. Also, Focus is like a combination of Brut and Slin Bracer, really nice stuff and I get complements on it. The Musk is nice, as well as their brand new Jade, which is similar to Polo, according to their marketing people. Honestly, the only one I have that I did not care for is their Spice, but I'm sure if I use it a couple more times I'll come around! So, which ones did you get, Cottontop?

I have the Challenge, Champagne, Master Blue, Checkered Flag and Lord & Master. I love the way they feel very cooling and softening to my skin. While still a great performer the only scent I'm not sold on is the L&M maybe a bit too powdery oldmanish for me but I'll giver it a few more tries before I fully make up my mind,

Besides the Checker Flag, I got the Ocean Blue, Challenge, and Jade. Can't wait to try them all, and eventually acquire all of the others in their line.

Used the Jade today. It was a little too light for me. I think that because of the name, I was thinking more of something like the old "jade East," or "Hai Karate." It has a scent all its own, but kind of faint. At the same time, it was very mild and not much burn.I can see where I will use it some days, but I'm sure I will not use it up very fast.

I also used the Master Jade today. I am helping out at a festival this weekend and we are downwind from a large, smelly dumpster. Every few minutes I take a cupped hand sniff and it helps out considerably! The Jade is definitely nice stuff.

VIBR? Not sure I know what that is. I really like the Master Bay Rum, but occasionally find it a little sticky. Please enlighten me!!

I really like Master Bay Rum as well. I guess it is a tad sticky but i didn't even notice this until reading this thread.. I also like Master Focus; very strong and masculine.

Challenge is not really working for me. Feels like a blast of alcohol and not much else. According to a few sites, the fragrance can be described as a "sensual musk scent". Anyone using this one?

I have a number of Master after shaves. Topaz is my favorite out the ones the make (scent wise)

I find that the Challenge is very close in scent to Pinaud Special Reserve. I use it and enjoy it. Give it a little time. When I first used Clubman Special Reserve I was unimpressed. Took a number of uses for me to come around. Now I enjoy a heavy musk scent occasionally

I agree, the two are very similar, however Challenge has glycerin and not as strong of an aroma. A couple of times I have used the two together, using Challenge as a splash and Special Reserve as a cologne with a dab behind the ears and on the wrists. They go very well together.

That's interesting because I really enjoy Special Reserve; it's one of my favorites. I'd like to revisit Challenge but now I can't seem to find the 1oz sample I had purchased. Where did you go...
