Martin de Candre in Paris? (any other recommendations?)

Does anyone know if Martin de Candre can be purchased in Paris?

Also, can any of the French shave soap aficionados recommend some of the more esoteric soaps that are worth picking up? I already have PdP and PS. I haven't tried IK, but I know it's available in Paris. IK isn't on the "rare" list.

Thanks,
-Andy

Yes, the MdC can be purchased in Paris - I think I saw it in Planet Razoir in central Paris. The store also has a small selection of other French shaving products, a large selection of Plisson brushes, some Thiers straights, as well as some nice French pocket knives.

If you pass by any Monoprix (large chain department store), you should consider picking up a tub of Monsavon - its a soft soap (but a bit harder than the Proraso soap) and is tallow based - its not the best soap I've used, but it is a solid performer for the 2 (or so) Euro price tag - the same soap costs more than $10 plus shipping if you can find it stateside (so pick up a couple of extras for traders!). This isn't "rare" per se, but it is very hard to find outside of France.

Thanks for all the great advice. Monsavon and MdC are definitely on the list now.

Everything I've read indicates that shipping MdC anywhere outside of France is expensive.
