Mama's Bear soaps... Your Opinion?

What is your opinion of Mama Bear's 100% Cocoa Natural Shaving Soap? I opted out of getting the QED b/c it was too expensive for 2.2 oz stick with shipping. I'm seeing so many great responses to Mama Bear's shaving soaps and the differences are really among all scents. Just waiting to try it out!

Tell me what you guys think if any have tried this scent specifically please. Thanks!

You know, I was looking at her site lastnight prepping an order and I stopped to look at this one. I'm curious to see what people say about this one.

Hey B,
I haven't tried the Cocoa Natural Shaving Soap, but I have ordered 7 different scented soaps from Mama bear and they all perform magnificently. The closest pure scent I have is the Almond, which is great. The scents are not overpowering at all.

so, I say...you got nothing to lose. Go ahead and give it a try. You can always opt to order her sample size soaps for $1. :thumbup1:

I don't have that specific scent. But do have Ye Olde Barbershoppe, Lime Ice, Rosemary Mint and Masculine Musk. I like them all! They lather very well for me. Its really hot right now where I am (south central US) and I have been using the Lime Ice a lot. I shave my head as well as my face. So have been lathering up my head with the Lime Ice too. When done I slap on some of Mama's Lime Ice AS milk/splash and I have a pretty cool head in this hot weather! The Rosemary Mint is another good hot weather soap.

Next order I place, I'll have to ask for a sample of her Cocoa. My personal opinion, you can't go wrong with Mama's soaps. Good product at a very reasonable price.

GREAT! My expectations won't seem to be negative and thanks Robert for your input b/c i'm looking for to it now.

All Mama Bear soaps I tried are great.
Unfortunately, I haven't tried Cocoa.

I never would have imagined to like that type of scents.
And now I really like Almond!

What made you decide for such a chocolate scent?

And if you order... don't forget to post your impressions!
I'd be interested!

Hey Wimbouman,

I chose this scent because I saw a review on the QED choco shave stick and heard great things about the scent. I remember one saying it was like Chocolate mousse lol. I already have TOBS Avocado, AOS Lavender & CO Bigelow and wanted something out of the ordinary and not flowery. Also the QED shave stick was overly priced in my opinion and thought I should give Mama Bear a go. I'll let you guys know eventually know and post something with pics.

The only downside is that I actually use Poraso Pre-shave which I truly love and helps my shave overall will be overpowering, but we shall see.

I have about 5 MB soaps in bowls and shave stick form, each is truely wonderful. The scents are amazing and not overpowering, and the glycerine soaps lather very well and do a great job on the brush.

I have e-mailed the company on several occasions, and I have always received a speedy reply from the owner (Sue) herself.

I have just ordered 20 samples, and there will be many more MB soaps as a result in the offing for me. I simply cannot say enough good about the products or about Sue herself.

Awesome, all these posts are really keeping my expectations high? BTW you can still use their shaving soaps for sensitive skin correct, thats another reason why I picked cocoa?

The scents on Mama Bear's are strong, but not overpowering. On some other soaps and creams I've used, it seems like the Proraso Pre would be more dominant (or at least noticeably strong) than whatever I'm shaving with (for the first pass at least). Not so on today's shave with the Spellbound Woods scent.

No experience with Cocoa, but the three different soaps I have are all winners.

Unless you have sensitivity/allergy to cocoa absolute I don't think it will bother you. The soap base itself is mild, I think those who get reactions from Mama Bear's soaps are sensitive to specific fragrance or essential oils which may or may not be present which vary in the different varieties.

GREAT! I have no allergies whatsoever to Cocoa. I love to eat the stuff, so I think i'm cleared on that aspect of it.
