Making your own coffee-chicory blend

I enjoy a good New Orleans style coffee with chicory from time to time, but not often enough to buy a pre-made blend like Café du Monde, as it would take me forever to use the whole can, and I'd prefer to grind my own fresh beans. A number of spice stores near me sell dried chicory. I am just wondering if anyone has experimented with making your own coffee-chicory blend, and if so, what ratio of coffee to chicory works best for you.
