Lush soaps?

Has anybody else here tried any of the Lush soaps for shaving? I picked up a small bar of something they called "Honey I washed the kids" when I was on vacation, and I have been using it this week. It seems to lather up faily well with a brush, and I get a decent shave with it. It is supposed to be the mildest thing they sold, although the sales girl couldn't tell me what exactly it was made out of. She was more interested in explaining how it was not animal tested, and they were a strictly vegan company. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I had spent most of the day before chasing wild boar through the jungle with a knife for the express purpose of killing and eating them. The vegan aspect normally turns me right off, but this stuff smelled good. Kind of a clean, honey scent, that isn't overpowering. It lathers up like some of the coconut oil based soaps that I have used. She also seemed to think that honey was used in the process somewhere, but I have learned long ago to take comments like that with a grain of salt. Especially when they come from vegans with enough facial piercings to look like Sputnik. My guess would be that they used beeswax as one of the fats to make it. If anybody else has any experiences with these soaps, please let me know what you thought of them. So far, this one seems to be a winner.

I haven't try them, I can't pass the door because of the scent. One thing is for sure, they are consistents has all the stores I walked by in Canada and Melbourne had the exact same scent. It's probably a good product but I will let someone who tried it to provide the information!

I stopped in and asked about shaving soap a while back. They looked at me like I was from another planet. Nice enough place but I haven't been back.

My Familys soap factory manufactures and supplies them in Europe with all their solid and liquid soaps. They are extremley strict on product control seperate warehouse for raw material and tanks for manufacture.

I haven't tried Honey I Washed the Kids yet, but I've recently been using Chox Away, one of their newest soaps, which does a very convincing job!

I tried Rockstar but wouldn't recommend it.

In point of fact, some time ago I made a similarly titled thread when I was using their Gratuitous Violets. Unfortunately they don't make that any more.

In the branches I frequent they are quite used to the issues associated with shaving. I've tried their brushless-creams but I don't care for them as they clog the razor too much, as has been said. I and my fiancée have both written to them suggesting they develop a specific shaving soap, but nothing has appeared yet.

Anyway, try Chox Away. The lather is nice and thick and sticks around well. Also it leaves a slight smell of chocolate afterwards, which my other half rather likes!

Edit because I forgot to say: The full list of ingredients (minus their mix of fragrance) is listed on the label.

Editing again for this: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=33741
Where it says 'spe....ed' it's meant to say 'specialized'. No idea why it doesn't.

I have just started using the Prince brushless cream. I like it a lot--a hell of a lot more than canned stuff. It is thick and does tend to clog, but I have found that a rinse of the razor under a stream of hot water after every stroke or so keeps it clean. I'll have to re-evaluate my opinion after I get some real soap and a brush.

Also, not everything they make is vegan. There are some products that are specifically labeled as being vegan.

For example, honey is off-limits in the strict vegan rules.

Now I want to go to la carnicería and buy a couple of kilos of meat to atone for posing as a vegan expert!

She's obviously not a very good vegan, since vegans consider honey to be an evil exploitation of animals.

She looked like she had fallen face-first into a tacklebox. I wasn't going to consider her an authority on anything other than how to avoid tetnus, and possibly on creative ways to boost cell phone reception.
