Lot of Double Rings recently auctioned off on the bay

I was in it for a while but the bidding got crazy at the end. Hard to believe the seller had his hands on two different double rings at the same time.

They are the earliest Gillette models dating to 1905 and only produced for a few years before the advent of the Single Ring.

I don't normally go after any expensive razors, I like getting grimy razors on the cheap and then trying to clean/polish them up but I had to try for a double ring, I was in until it passed $250, way more than I've ever spent on a razor or group of razors.

Hard to believe the seller had his hands on two different double rings at the same time.

Years ago I had the whole shebang from 1903 pat appld to 1905, and all of the cases, NY, Chicago, and Boston. Also had a cased 1906 single ring. Sold them to a fellow in Arizona who made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
