There appears to me to be enough interest in reviving two "lost" shaving soaps to warrant an appeal to the parent companies. Williams Mug and Old Spice.
Rather than complaining that these companies will never listen to us, I propose we make an attempt (Then we can complain if they don't listen). I've actually had success in the past in getting a major manufacturer to create a product for me that was no longer produced.
I see two possibilities here:
1) Perhaps the company who makes Williams Mug would be willing to do a special run for a one-time group buy of the old formulation. Simply ask them how many units we'd have to buy at what price to get them to do this. I doubt this approach would work for Old Spice Soap since it's no longer in production at all.
2) Create a video appeal to be posted on YouTube. Something to the effect of "Wetshavers of the World Unite". I'll come up with a script and then I'd need B&B'ers to record segments of it and submit to me for editing. I'll furnish the professional voiceover for it. This seems to me to be a good way to go "public" with our request and perhaps a better chance to appeal to PG&E.
Thought? Ideas?
