i see many state that the lord blades are the same among brands just repackaged? i liked the lord platinum and i was lucky enough to get a pack of super chromes from a pif. i have yet to have time to really use one and my first time with a blade i like to take my time and really see how a blade performs and see how sharp vs smooth i like to take my time with it the first use. i plan on using a shark sc this week but im curious to know what peoples thoughts were about the whole lord thing. are their blades really the same but repackaged under different brands. and how would you say these 2 compare? im curious to know going in what the general thoughts are about these 2.

The Lord Platinum is my every day blade. I started out using Shark SC, and they were okay, but the LPs are definitely better for me. And there was quite a difference in feel. I would say the Lords were smoother and lasted longer, though YMMV.
My experience is the Shark SC are a little smother than the Lord Platinum. Both shave with the right amount of sharpness.
Even if they feel the same they are different by nature; the Platinum Class is a coated "super stainless" blade and the Super Chromes are made from a different stainless quality with a higher chrome content.
The Lord Platinum is one of my favorite blades. I bought 100 of the Shark SC and quickly determined they did not work as well for me as well the Lord.
For people that like Derby's I think you would love Lord Plat. is the perfect blade to up your shave a little and get more milage per blade.

i hate derby's but find the lord plats good in certain razors. i could not say lord plats are similar to derby's imo they are MUCH better.
I use often Derby and like them, but I like neither Lord Platinum nor Shark blades. Both could be the same blades. Both are rough.
I've heard they were the same blade too but I've tried several of the Lord brands and think they're all different. For me, the Lord Plats are sharper and last longer than the Sharks. The Sharks are much smoother than the Plats, and almost as sharp. Either way, they're both great blades and an excellent value.
