Looking for suggestions for a pipe travel case

I'm a bit of a gypsy smoker--always out and about with friends. I just received my first pipe and am having to carry my supplies around in a cardboard box--yick!

I'd really like to have a unique travel case. I'm thinking I'd like a vintage tin of some kind (I can shape a lining out of foam), but I don't know where to start looking. Any suggestions?

I just need to be able to carry:

-A 6" Prince pipe, very lightly bent stem
-Zippo
-Tamper
-About half an ounce of tobacco
-A couple pipe cleaners

Here's a quick shot of what I had in mind for a layout (razor blade box under the pipe to prop it up):

Oh, and if it's deep enough, I could turn the Zippo on its side to tighten it up a bit more. Looking for this to be as small as practicable.

I've seen pencil boxes made in that style at walmart. I bet they'd be big enough for a pipe and a few supplies.

I'm pretty sure Walmart is a retail seller of that actual brand, even. They make great travel kits for more than just pipes.

That leather pouch is beautiful! Too rich for my blood, though.

The pencil box suggestion was great! Gives me an idea. I'll post up when I follow through. Thanks guys!

Necroposting this after 4 months just to keep my word ;). Shortly after this post, I got the case I wanted. I have a dumb sense of humor and decided I wanted to be cheeky with a 'vintage' lunch box like I carried in elementary school. I found a Days of Thunder one that fit the bill just perfectly, so I snagged it.

Trouble was, I still had to wrap all my pipe gear in a towel, and that was rather burdensome and inelegant. The plan was always to cut some foam out to line it with, but it was easy to put on the backburner until I received a package last week that used the PERFECT foam as its packaging material. So I took a couple hours today and made it how I wanted it. Note, new pipes (and room for one more)!

Cool thing is, I guess all Alladin lunchboxes would have the same dimensions, so if the mood ever strikes for Power Rangers or Alf, I can always grab one of those ;)

I bought this off the bay from china.

It's a knockoff Savinelli, but in all honestly it works great. The little inside pouch is removable in case you want to put your own tin or plastic pouch. The pouch that comes with it has a lining and keeps the baccy moist for about 4-5 days. You can get the same model with other company names if you want. Shipping was free so that was a key point being on this far away rock.

I definitely love the ingenuity of some of the pipe cases here though. Very crafty.

Maxpedition Fatty Pocket Organizer.

+1

Not sure if I have the Fatty, but it's a Maxpedition that I got off Amazon. Works great, can carry up to 3 pipes, 2 tampers, 2 lighters, some cleaners and two small baggies of tobacco. Makes a great day/short weekend bag and protects everything, even in the saddle bag of my Harley!

I'm seriously checking these out. Sounds like a great idea. I almost picked up a leather Dopp kit on sale yesterday, another cheap alternative to pipe bags, but this sounds so much more practical, and obviously can be used for other things if it doesn't suit me as a pipe bag.
