Looking for a Simpson Best Badger Face Lathering Brush

I am looking to get a new brush for face lathering in Simpson Best Badger. I currently have a Persian Jar 2 in Super but want to try Best Badger. On the short list right now are:

Duke 2 Best
Classic 2 Best
Commodore X2 Best

Do you have any recommendations from the above or a new idea?

I've a Duke 2, and the Colonel 2XL in Best, both have pretty dense Best knots that work well. The main difference is in handle height, I have never tried the Classic or Commodore models. For me, given you have the PJ I'd opt for a shorter handle for face lathering, such as the Duke or the Classic.

Yes, from what I could tell the Duke 2 is excellent as well. The 57 has similar measurements and I found one for a good price so that is why I purchased the 57.

I have a Chubby 2 Synthetic, but I've never had the original Chubby 2 "wall of badger"!

Since you are looking for a strictly face lathering brush, the Duke is the most versatile of the ones you mentioned. The Classic 2 is very similar to the Chubby 1 which is also a good choice. You just cannot go wrong with any of them.

Good choice. Great handle and knot in that series. I gave my 56 to a brother-in-law about 8 years ago to try wetshaving and I haven't seen it since.
