My Simpsons Colonel Manchurian X2L is (to date) my favorite brush. I like a fan shape more than a bulb, and the small-ish Colonel feels much bigger on my face than the size would indicate. I exclusively face lather, so I cannot comment on bowl lathering. The splay of the Colonel is good, but being a smaller knot and relatively shorter loft, there is still great backbone. Since using the Colonel for nearly a year, I have recently ordered other smaller knot, shorter lofted brushes as I like them most. I do own a Chubby 2 synthetic, and putting the bristles aside, that brush feels too big to me, in my hand and on my face.
