I'm looking for a new Brush. I am kinda new so I am not sure what brand to get. I don't want to spend too much and I want something better than a pure badger.
Hi Captain.
I have tried, palm, bowl and directly on face.
Direcltly on face is my method of choice.
I use both cream and hard milled soap.
My routine is basically,
1. Take a hot shower
2. Wet Brush, and put soap on it.
3. Create lather on face
4. Single pass with grain
5. Cold shower.

If you are starting to acquire brushes on the cheap then do not dismiss the Semogue boar brushes. They are great face latherers. I have a 1460 that is breaking in nicely and am about to use my new 620 in a few minutes. After hearing descriptions of how scrubby it is I am pleasantly surprised at how supple the bristles feel out of the box. Good luck... Vintage Scent Co. stocks a variety.
For the money you can't go wrong with an Omega boar. Another VERY good performer for the money is a Crabtree & Evelyn Best Badger Brush, but for a just a bit more you can have a custom Rudy Vey at around $80 to $90 US. This one would be in Finest, or silvertip, which would work for soaps and creams, face or bowl lathering.+1 on the Semogue boars. I use an SOC, 1305 and 620 and all are great.
