Looking for a good sandalwood soap

I'd appreciate recommendations for a sandalwood soap.

I was going to go for mystic waters Mysore sandalwood but having used a bar of Mysore soap, which I discarded because of the scent, I don't wan to chance it.

I think that years ago I tried Thumpers sandalwood soap and found it intoxicating and wondering at the time if they made a comparable cologne.

Id love a soap that smelled like Tam Dao

so I'm open to suggestions and as always appreciate the help.

My thoughts on Sandalwood may be different to those of others, but I would suggest trying Art Of Shaving's version if you are able to. Even though their soaps have been recently re-formulated and no longer contain tallow, they are apparently still good performers.

Crabtree & Evelyn gets the nod from me.

Selling retail for only $9 for a refill puck, their products are hard to beat

If you like Tam Dao then try Queen Charlotte Mysore Sandalwood. It does not smell like your Mysore bar. I too used Mysore bar soap and I hated the scent.

QCS has a lovely woody scent that compliments Tam Dao perfectly. AOS smells good and is a great performer, but it doesn't smell like Tam Dao.

If you'd like to try it I'd be happy to send you a small sample. Just PM me and I'll get it out to you.

+1

I have not tried Mysore soap bars before, but I was just going to suggest QCS Mysore Sandalwood. A very nice, complex woody scent that is to die for in my opinion. I have not tried the soap, but I have the cream and it is wonderful.

FWIW, I like the smell of Michelle's (Mystic Water) version of sandalwood, and I'm pretty picky about my sandalwood.
Also, another vote for AOS. Haven't tried the reformulation, but the original smells and performs wonderfully.

I've had TOBS and MW sandalwood soaps, and the Sandalwood shaving cream from TSD. The Mystic Water version is my favorite ,though the TSD is close behind.

I find the MW sandalwood to be a very easy to love scent. It's a sweeter, smoother scent the TOBS sandalwood. And, where as the TOBs burned my face, Mystic Water feels great on my face.

I have TOBS and AOS sandalwoods and I like them both fairly equally with a slight nod to the TOBS. However, Cella has been dominating since I picked up a tub of it...

+1 for Crabtree and Evelyn sandalwood soap. I've tried a few different brands and both my wife and I like this scent the best. I also find it to be a very good performing soap IMO.

I picked up some AOS sandalwood too and the smell is very intense. I have no experience with the older version, but this one performs quite well.

TOBS sandalwood is my favorite. Good lather and smells fantastic.

+1 Ooohh yeahhh! Tried just about every Sandlewood soap or cream there are and TOBS rule hands down. IMO its the only brand that does not hold back on the scent. It's simply Sandlewood and it's great.

I have TOBS sandalwood cologne and find it way too sweet for my taste. Does the soap and cologne have the same scent. My all time favorite sandalwood cologne I'd Tam Dao.

I like Nanny's Sandalwood soft soap but it looks like its out of stock :(. Not overpoweringly fragranced and a top performer. Many soaps including, C&E and Penhaligans, struggle with my hard water so its nice to find ones that work.
