L'Occitane Cade Rich Shaving Cream in the Tub - anyone got the low down?

Was just at the Cherry Creek L'Occitane in Denver and saw the Gentlemen's Kit with the Plisson Synthetic Brush, Rosewood Handle Gillette Fusion and the L'Occitane Cade Rich Shaving Cream in a tub, 6.7 oz I believe. I notice that it is on their website now too.... anyone tried it yet? the associate at the store said that it was a "long time coming" and that L'Occitane has been working very hard to develop creams that are much better with brushes and that this one is specifically formulated for use with a brush. Im thinking I'll go ahead and order with some L'Occitan AS Balm.... anyone with experience with this product.... please chime in.

Thanks,

Jason

I received a sample during my last visit to my local L'Occitane. If you bring in a small container they'll usually fill it for you. The cream has a thicker consistency than the cream in the tube. The scent is nearly identical to the tube. I didn't detect much Cade scent at all but it still smelled good. It was very easy to build a nice lather from an almond sized dollop of cream. One the face it felt very slick and moisturizing. I had no trouble cutting to three days growth. Three passes later and my face felt fantastic. Followed up with their Eau de Baux balm and went about my day. Later that evening my face still felt great.

To me the new rich cream in the tub is a vast improvement over the old tube formulation. The tube was reformulated not to long ago and it too was improved. The tube formula I'm referring to is the one before the current formula. I could never get the lather to last with that formula.

I may pick up a tub of this new stuff the next time I visit the store. Now if they would just bring back my beloved Cade Aftershave Splash.

Sidenote, the sales clerk told me that the development of the new cream was a collaboration between L'Occitane and Plisson.

I'm interested in hearing opinions on this as well. The most recent formulation in the tube is FANTASTIC so if this is at the same level, it will be wonderful stuff.

Sigh, i wish they would just bring back the splash too. I'm down to my last 3 bottles..

Yes. Got a sample from my local store.

Not much time for a detailed review, but it's much, much better than the old cream. Rather thick, rich and moisturizing. Not really a winter cream - but an excellent match for one of L'Occitane's aftershave balms. Give it a try, I think they nailed it this time!

I have to agree. I bought it last week, and tried it once and had the same experience. The lather is a little creamier than the soap.

its $26/ tub online when I checked yesterday...the store will match it too. :)
It says $34 on the L'Occitane website as of right now (early morning, 7/24/13). When I checked it a few weeks back, I seem to recall the price was lower. I don't remember the exact amount, but $26 sounds about right. Was that possibly an introductory price? (The 5.2-ounce tube costs $28, so $26 for the 7-ounce tub seems a bit too good to be true.)

Damn you all, I'm going to have to visit the store at lunchtime to check this stuff out, just when I'm trying to wean myself off buying yet more creams

That stinks....they matched the online price for me at $26.00....they must have just changed it. Either way Its a great cream!
