Not to take over your post, but people might find it helpful to have three categories of must try: cheap (under $10), mid-priced (maybe $11-20) and expensive (obviously above $20).

I haven't used anything in the cheap category in so many years that I hesitate to make a suggestion.

My mid-priced favorite is Haslinger's.

MdC and Wholly Kaw are my expensive favorites.

Plus so many more, due to a severe case of SSAD, I have a couple of shelves full of soaps, a wet shaver's dream. I lay out the next morning's flavor the night before, sometimes decisions don't come easy in the early morning!

1) Williams Mug Soap (especially vintage) over Arko.
It's cheaper, slicker, and reminds me of a night on the
patio instead of a day in the men's room.
2) Barrister & Mann (Will is the scent king)
3) Stirling (Rod is right behind him)
4) MWF (love the lanolin)
5) L’Occitaine Cade (my top non-tallow soap)
6) AoS (Vintage Tallow formula)
7) Catie's Bubbles, especially "A Midnight Dreary"
8) Tabac stick
9) VDH Luxury (over Col. Conk because I can walk in to a store and buy it locally)
10) Proraso Green

Honorable Mention (alphabetic order):
ARKO (WMS wannabe), Cella (the only soap that has ever turned rancid on me), Col. Conk, Razorock, TOBS

1) Ogallala Bay Rum - it just smells really good.
2) WSP Blackbeard - I'm stunned that a tobacco scented soap could even make my list because I don't like that scent.
3) Barrister and Mann Bay Rum - my favorite Bay Rum scent.
