What's new

Like son, like father?

After staying with me for a week when I was recovering from the worst of my illness, my father has been starting to make noises about wetshaving. First it was brush and soap. I got him some for father's day. He loves them, and now he's thinking about getting an adjustable DE razor and ditching his cartridges.

Now I'm deciding if I want to get him a modern adjustable or a vintage. Tough call, they both have their virtues.

I suspect a part of that has to do with the recent passing of my grandfather. He shaved with brush and soap, though he stopped using a DE some time ago. I'm going to be getting the brush from my father, and I confess I'm interested to see what my grandfather used.

I've got many friends who are starting into the practice from my enthusiasm of it, but my father just sort of osmosed it. Still, it's going to be very cool to have someone else with the collector OCD gene to collect and work with.

I just bought my Dad some wet shaving gear, he loves it.

I know nothing about modern adjustables but I picked up a Gillette Black Beauty up on eBay for $15.90 which includes the cost of shipping.
