LIDGE and Black Orchid

I find them to be similar. I just bought Black Orchid today. I like it. Previous testing was too sweet and licorice. But I like the scent aura it creates.
I have to hand it to Tom Ford their scents are POWERFUL and EDP one spray only level stuff.

I know LIDGE gets a lot of love on the frag boards and BO less so, but wondering if others saw the similarities and had a preference.

Black Orchid seemed very floral to me, so no, I didn't notice much similarity to LIDGE, other than both were noticeably quality scents. I much prefer LIDGE. Does make me wonder if I just missed the similarity, and might notice it if I tried Black Orchid again, though.

I wore orchid to work today and I feel like it actually is easier to wear than LIDGE. LIDGE is a heavy scent that really projects. Orchid despite being EDP and potent seems less on your face still enjoyable. I think the licorice note in Orchid will turn a lot of guys off buy I don't find this one any more feminine than DH, LIDGE, MIP, Windsor etc all of which I also like.

That Tom Ford--what a scamp!

I happened to be in Manhattan the day that Black Orchid was released and grabbed a bottle for my wife at Bergdorf's without giving it too much thought. She really liked it and has kept a bottle on hand ever since.
