Letting go of razor

doctordial

my brain goes "thonk"
Should I let go of my 39C since it is considered to be for cutting coarse and heavy beards? I shaved with it after five days of growth. The shave was great, but my hair is fine and thin and coarse. I like to shave everyday, but I was told to try every other day.(bummer) I really enjoy shaving. I still have a 38C I haven't used in a month.

Use that 39C everyday or every other day! For something that costs only about $50-60 and brings you pleasure, repeatedly, why not use it? It's a great razor. I don't use it everyday b/c I have large collection and like to make my rounds.

Just make sure, if you give it away, it is to a "Slant No-kill Shelter." If not, its lather will be on your hands.

Cheers.

Off topic but could I ask why you where advised to not shave daily? If irritation is the issue, tilt the razor back more so it's gliding on the cap and you can just barely feel the blade. Also a slower moving razor leaves my face feeling smooth and irritation free. Shave with what you enjoy....

Needs milk and a bidet!
i agree with everyone here. if its working for you and you like it keep it. i dont think anyone is going to advise you to get rid of it. especially if you like the shave it gives you. maybe just save it for those times you have 5 days growth again.

I shave daily with a 39c and find it to be a great close comfortable razor.
I do have 3 others in rotation so it is in use for about 7 straight days each month. It is not irritating as a daily shaver. Does require a light touch, but really, so do all DE's.
Cheers, and enjoy your Sledgehammer!

I have used my 39c quite a lot, and never felt the need to ration it. It's a great shaver for any hair type. It's effective with fewer passes, so if anything it should be BETTER as a daily shaver than many razors.

Yet another example of YMMV... If I move too slowly I get pull with just about every blade or razor I've tried. I get much better results with short, quick (but not abrupt) strokes.
