Lee's Razors

I know there has been some discussion, as of late, about excessive praise for vendors. These addressed special accolades when the vendor is only doing his or her job. Hopefully, this doesn't fall into that category.

I was recently in the market for a new brush. After much research, I found what I wanted to buy at Lee's Razors.

I emailed Lee and told him I was intending to buy the brush, which was on sale, but wanted to wait a few days to see if I might bundle it with something else to save on shipping. I offered to pay for the brush and let him hold it. He would not accept my payment, but said he would put me one aside.

After a few days, my son had found a product (of mine) that he liked. I decided to get him some for Christmas. I again emailed Lee and told him what I wanted. I also asked if he could pick a brush that had a flatter knot, with less of a bulb shape. He replied that he would.

I submitted the order, first at my computer at my office. During the order, my computer froze, and I didn't think it went through. Later that evening, I again submitted the order on my home computer.

Not long after this, I get a PHONE CALL (when has that ever happened) from Lee saying I had double ordered. He was wanting to make sure the order was correct! This is what I call service that goes above and beyond. I received the order 3 days later (during Christmas).

Thanks Lee,, and Merry Christmas.

Just my 2 cents worth.

This is the type of service that I do believe deserves praise. A personal phone call from the vendor (rather than an informal e-mail) is very nice and lets you know that you can trust the person you are dealing with. Excellent job!

I recently placed an order with Lee as well and received my package in 3 days, which is crazy considering how bogged down the USPS is at the moment.

He also is the only vendor in the US that carries SMN and tabula Rasa (both comprising my order and both great products).

Lee came all the way from NY to Austin for our meetup earlier this year. He's a great guy. I've never ordered from him, but I'm down to ordering things once or twice a year, tops. When I do, i'll probably order from Lee.

... and for those living on Long Island, Lee will even meet with you to handle the transaction personally. No shipping fees!

thats awesome. I grew up right around the corner from Jericho, but in Suffol.k County, family still lives around there. Maybe I'll have to think of an order as I'll be headed that way for Xmas.

When I've ordered from Lee in the past, I've met him in the Jericho area, usually at Staples. Lee is a standup guy, returns calls quicky, and will help you make a good decision. It definitely helps to have a local guy with whom you can deal face to face, and save on shipping as well.

I agree, that's GREAT! Now I'm wishing New Mexico wasn't so far from Long Island...

What's next? Home delivery? Hey... wait a minute... that sounds good, actually. :w00t:

Anyone know if he sends his straight razors out honed?

I just saw that. Thank you. I work in Plainview....literally 2 minutes from Jericho. This could be trouble. Justifying purchases because I "don't have to pay shipping."

Be careful, Frank... Could be a slippery slope!

And, Lee is a great guy to do business with... Even though he's from New Yawk! :scared::laugh:
