I picked up a black handle Gillette Super Speed with a date code of Z-4 at a antique shop near my work. According to the date code index online that makes this manufactured last quarter of 1979. It wasn't in great shape but it was only $5. That got me to wondering, what is the very last date code produced for Super Speeds?

The black handle SS was made into the early to mid-80's. Latest I've seen is an '83; have heard of 85's, tho. In the 80's, the handle treatment was changed to a diamond pattern knurling.
