Lady gillette blues

So I came across this thread in the BST:

Crazy. I was unaware that there were in fact 2 shades of blue. Can anyone explain if there is a way to tell which shade you are getting aside from attempting to eyeball it from posted photos? Sometimes the lighting can play tricks and I wouldn't trust myself to accurately make that call.

it´s true, there are 4 different Lady Gillette´s:

Mr Razor - Do you know if these four models were all available at the same time or did they come out in different years?? Do you know the years of production? Were they different for each razor?

thnx!! :thumbup1:

With the "blues" the lighting does play tricks. The difference in color is not stark, and in the right light, holding the razors at the right angle, it is hard to tell them apart. Conversely, holding the two at different angles, the difference is apparent, the darker blue being closer to turquoise.

But, for instance, if a seller has a single blue for sale, without one of a different shade next to it, is there really any way to tell whether it's a light or dark one? In other words, is there any way aside from comparing two different ones side-by-side to determine which you have?

So $32.50 it is right price for Gillette Lady? Or it is over price? Can some one answer mine question please.:001_unsur

This is one I just picked up this week. I think it started life as a turquoise and lost most of it's finish on the handle. The wife was unimpressed. I found it very decent though, and expect to see it through some use. All I can compare it to so far is a '64 SS, but that'll change this week.

You're right, Joe. And the stars give it away also - the dark blue's stars contrast more with the silver color of the upper handle than those on the light blue.
