Okay, more newbie stuff here. I've got a handle on how to make a lather with a puck and brush, but what about a cream or a lotion? Going to pick up some KMF Shave, and wondering how lathering differs? Would I still use a mug or bowl for the brush, or be better off just to lather on the face?

KMF shave cream is the easiest cream to lather that I currently own.
The lather explode from the brush and it is very lubricating on the skin.
I just put a small amount directly in the wet brush and mix in a mug with a bit of water.

Which KMF do you have? And do they all pretty much act the same way?
If you can make lather with soap, you can make lather with cream. Cream is easier to lather than soap.
I use the standard mint. it is an awesome product. I also use it to shave my head, and get a nice irritation free shave.
It all depends. Some people get better lather stirring a drop of cream in a cup (or in your hand or whichever method you choose) than with soap. I alternate but I enjoy the process of a short 3 second stir on a puck, then building the lather on the face.
Be wary of lavender KMF because lavender is an irritant for some people and it really made my face red and caused me to cut myself like 6 times.
