OK here is the deal, I have tried lots and lots of different creams but always come back to Palmolive Italian Menthol because I like the menthol kick plus glycerin is the 2nd ingredient which is unusual in most creams but it lacks essential oils. I have been using Esbjerg lately because it is rich in oils. Anyway the other day in Walgreens I picked up a tube of Cremo on a whim, as anyone who has tried Cremo will attest its rich in oils but does not lather well. So the other morning I'm looking at the Palmolive and the Cremo and said to myself why the hell not, so I mixed equal parts of both and got the best lather, the best lube and a GREAT shave. I feel like the Louis Pasteur of shaving cream! And on the cheap no less.
Just for clarity here is my process: I shower shave and have been doing so for over 35 years with a great mirror that is taped into the plumbing so warn water runs into it and prevents fogging I use an ATT razor with an R plate and only use Feather blades and I face lather with a synthetic brush.
For full Disclosure I think I should add that I don't like soaps and try not to use animal products so hence no tallow products or natural bristle brushes. I am grateful for all the recent advances in synthetic bristle brushes.
I hope someone finds this idea helpful
