What's new

Kent's Luxury Soap from Ebay Store.

I purchased the wetshaving kit (it was 1 £ more than just the soap) from Kent's store on Ebay. It was ~$20 shipped to the US.

It came with a 2 blade disposable razor (Wilkinson) a boar brush (dyed to look like badger). Seems ok (for a $1 brush). It's wood handle, clear finish is crap (bottom is covered with bubbles) but who cares. 2 inch loft. Just shy of 4" total. 16mm knot. Stiff bristles, packed enough and tight enough I expect it could be used for a few months anyway.

Soap is, I understand, repackaged MWF. So I've been told anyway. Smell description I got for this one was dead on. Very faint, and smells like a simple laundry soap.

It's good. Probably they best soap I've used, but to be fair, all these tallow first are really a class of their own, at least when it comes to fast and easy good lather.

That's an incredible deal, I can't believe I didn't know about this. A refill puck of kent alone is $22 at my local place, I'll be jumping on this for sure. Thanks!

Yeah, I've been putting off MWF till I saw this deal (I can't take credit, another member posted it here first, that's where I saw it). But getting a puck shipped from England with a bowl and a couple extra's (May actually use/gift the brush one of these days) for about what a refill costs shipped within the US? I couldn't resist.

Oh and it all comes in a little plastic toiletries bag with a drawstring (something you'd take to the gym showers with you to hold your soaps and such). Shipping was bullet fast. I bought it Tuesday Night last week (like 11pm in England) it arrived from England this Morning. So subtract the weekend, that's 3 day shipping from England to US for ~9$

Exact price was $21.61. $12.29+$9.32 shipping/Paypal conversion surcharge

One sec on the proper person to thank.

If you're in the UK, they have pucks + bowl (no brush etc) for 7.95 pounds shipped, 2 pounds more (9.95) for the razor, brush and baggie.

Thanks to you both for the info. I'll prob give the razor a miss (got a stack of spare handles in the "stuff" drawer )

Ingredients are exactly the same as MWF.

It is MWF.

I have the same item from the bay. It's also available with just the soap, but the knock-around boar makes it more fun.

Mine came today! What a bargain for such a tremendous soap!

Of course, now that I know where to get the refills for cheap, one of those ceramic MWF bowls would be nice...

We have a shop here in the UK called TK Maxx, not sure if there's an equivalent in the US,i saw the kent soap complete with wooden bowl for £5.00,approx $7.50,just the other day, sadly i cant get on with soaps so passed it by...

Ceramic Bowl you say?

Didn't cost me $35 either.

Dave. What does it carry, overstock and discontinued name brand items? If so, we have that here called "TJ Maxx".

Just the one puck or lots? If it's lots buy it all and sell it in BST.

If you're interested in this, you need to move fast to beat the price increase. The more recent postings of the soap and of the set are each £2.00 more than the older offerings (now £7.95 and £9.95, were £5.95 and £7.95)

Wow... it is rather silly that four dollars would force me to hop off the fence and buy this soap. You really can't beat that price, and I can't wait to try MWF to see what all the fuss is about. Thanks y'all!

I think it must be the same store as TJ Maxx,on occasions they also have Taylors of Old Bond street and regularly have founders reserve products.
The store i was in only had two,i'm not sure if the postage to the US would no longer make it a bargain,i'll pop back in the week and pick them up if they still have them.

I ordeded just the soap and bowl yesterday for a total of $19.32 delivered. I saw it in one of the local stores for $37.50. The later postings were higher but not prohibitively so. I had heard that this was MWF and this seemed like a good reasonable way to try it.

Technically the Ceramic Bowl only costs $22.00, since the refill comes with it and is worth $13.00.
