Kai folding and traditional Japanese straights

To all members who expressed an interest in the Kai straight razors, an update. I've had no luck with any of 6 vendors in their carrying the Kai stainless steel straights.

I've been in contact with the Kai company itself, and have received an email from them stating that the person in charge of dealing with their razors will be getting in touch with me via email soon. So I guess we'll see what they say about getting one of these razors. I'll post back as soon as I hear.

I had no idea these were so hard to find. I have a Japanese style Kai Captain Excelia that's just sitting around. I was going to sell it, but it looks like I may not be able to find one again if I do sell it. Maybe I should just hold onto it.

If it is sitting around and crying because it is not being used, I will be happy to provide it a good loving home Oh wait, I am looking for a folding one...

Depending on where in MA you are, I could lend the non-folding one to you to use. The blades are disposable, so there'll be no contamination issues.

I appreciate your generosity - thank you very much! I do have KAI Captain regular folding which I actually didn't even try yet and it probably shaves the same. I just think Excelia is a very attractive razor so I want to add it to my collection at some point if they are available.
