After much contemplation, I recently made the switch to a DE razor. I was worried that it might not be as obvious a better shave than a cartridge but I WAS WRONG. I purchased a Merkur Barber Pole 38C, and it is great. I've never shaved with a DE and it is truly magnificent. When I started wet shaving, it was the difference between night and day, and same applies to the switch to DE. Thank you for all providing valuable insight on post to help me make this transition. It has been a week and I still get knicks above the adams apple but with time I'm sure this will pass.

Welcome to B&B. I am glad that you are finding the entire experience to be enjoyable. I used to view shaving as a daily burden (and I did my best to rush through the experience). Now that I am a DE shaver, my morning shaves help me prepare for the day. Plus, I good shave just feels right!!!

Ah! I remember my first DE shave. After I had finished it, I thought "Why would anyone use a DE razor! My face is killing me and my shave is not very good." Well, I kept at it and since then I mastered beard prep and shave as fast as shaving with a cartridge, with much finer results and comfort. I've made plenty of converts due to my results.

The difference is truely amazing, I agree when my first DE shave was over my face felt so wonderful, and I enjoyed the process so much there was simply no looking back. A very heartfelt welcome to a new journyer in the world of DE and B&B!

Welcome to B&B! +1 to what Brian said as well. I like to think of shaving as a hobby now not as a chore because of Mantic and all of the other B&B users.
