What's new

Just got my re-plated Nickle Fatboy

Just received my Fatboy from Dave and it looks to me as if i walked in a store in 1959 and bought this razor brand new.
It was a dirty razor i picked up from ebay at a good price but mechanically it worked awesome.
Sent it to Dave, which took about a two week turnaround, and it looks very nice.
Will be shipping 2 slims i got at a great price to get re-plated also as this guy does a wonderful job, just as all of you have said in the forums.

Looks Minty, but the bottom Inner Barrel looks Dirty? or is that a before pic? Either way the rest of it looks Nice.

Yup,that is the before picture but i messed it up when i was uploading the pictures.
This was a really filthy fatboy but it cleaned up very well.
Then with Daves's magic it looks like new.
I wanted to upload more before pics but there was a limit per post i didn't know.

that looks fantastic...! who's Dave?

Very nice indeed. Dave has done both nickel and rhodium for me. While both metals are very shiny, nickel is (or can be) very bright. You have to wear sun glasses when you use one of Dave's nickel pieces :001_cool:

Wow, thanks for the great feedback guys

Yes, I often have to go out into bright sunlight (not often seen in good ol Blighty) when I have lined up Newly plated Nickel and Rhodium razors and forgotten which is which. The difference is not easy to distinguish sometimes.

I am heavily contemplating sending my newly purchased Fatboy (BST Forum) to you Dave for a restoration. I was going to have it dipped locally (NY) but after watching your video it looks as if a little more needs to go into the process than the dipping. Realignment, painting the numbers back etc. (I know you know the process of restoration, but this is the process of talking myself into it ;-) )

Anyway great retore!

I just shipped 2 slims that mechanically work great but may be a little on the used side as i got a great deal on them to Dave to restore in nickle.
When i get them back i will post the pics.
I'm hooked with Dave's work.
