What's new

Just arrived; Simpson Chubby 3 - Super Badger - PICS!

Hi!

Some time ago I bought the CH2 Super and instantly fell in love with it. I never regretted that I got it in Super instead of Best; which was the first plan.
After this I have been thinking a lot of the CH3 and almost bought one in Best, and then almost bought one lightly used in Super; but it was too bulby. So, what to do?

I headed over to TheSuperiorShave and found a CH3 in Super that looked like the "ONE". Whitest tips, biggest knot and most fan-shaped.
I pulled the trigger Sunday evening and had the brush today Friday 11:30 local time. Incredibly fast - Thank you Jarrod!

Unfortunately I had to pay custom fees of 670SEK = 98USD. BUT, I got too choose the "ONE"

Now, time for some pics!

After the first lather i rinsed the brush and soaked it again. Then had a shave with my newest favourite cream; l'occitane Cade. The lather was really nice and the CH3 released it surprisingly easy, even though it was it's first use. The brush of course smelled like a badger farm and the lather from the very inside of the knot was a little discoloured.

The thing that surprised me the most was that the brush didn't feel THAT big on my face, maybe this will change after some use when the knot gets a chance to "open up". It had a light scrub which I really like. This one seems to have a "better" (for some) batch of Super hair than my CH2.

On the whole I'm really happy with my new brush even though it came out almost 100USD more than I expected. ;)

Best regards
Michael

It's interesting that you mention that the lather is given up that easily. I truly believe that this brush is not asich if a lather hog as its made out to be. It does surprisingly well at giving up what it takes. I don't think this brush is high maintainence for someone who does 3 passes!

Enjoy your beautiful new brush - now I have to make a decision

Darn! That brush looks NICE. How do you compare it to the CH2 you got? Might be a little early still of course. I have often wondered if the CH3s are TOO big. Can you please post a pic with the CH2 next to it?
Also- rather interesting-Simpsons got the new boxes but still hang on to the old stickers. (They were forced to change those to Made In Great Britain" as some fool filed a complaint about it).
En riktigt snygg borste Michael!

Thank you SO much guys! I just came home from work now and the brush has started to dry and looks so good. The tips are as white as the Rooney/T&H super brushes.. fantastic!!

Hello my friend! If you want to, you can try the CH3 sometime. First impressions are that due to the higher loft of the CH3 it's not like a wall of badger on the face, it's more flexible and forgiving so to speak!

I will fix a comparision picture with the CH2 and some other 'well known brushes' :)

Tack Henrik, ha det så bra sålänge! :)
