What's new

JNat at rasurpur

Actually - I think it's kind of expensive.
Main thing is that there's no Tomo, no real quality assessment, and while I do believe it could actually be a Nakayama, I don't particularly like how it was cut.
Martin is a great guy and he does have a good rep - but Im not sold on his presentation there and for 240 USD I think there are better options around.
But - you never know - that might be a killer stone - I tend to play it safe most of the time though.
Except when the stone speaks to me - and that stone is kinda quiet.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification. What puts me off is that you see no pictures of the actual stone you'll get. This is just a symbolic image.

Yeah... he also says it's "like a Nakayama", which means it could be anything. So you are paying over $200 for a random Japanese stone, sight unseen, no additional information about it. That money would be much better spent on a stone that has been individually photographed and some information listed up front, etc...

Sight unseen stone... maybe it will become a thing :001_tongu . But with natural stones pictures tend to help alot, every other vendor seems to do it. But he does say ask for prices and so on, so buy it and let us know how it is!

SOme hard Arkansas could be nakayama like. I would rather overpay for the real thing but that's me. Im not knocking the gentleman that's selling it btw as I don't know him. Seem from the posts here he is ok.

That JNat was the last of the batch found at the now abandoned quarry....They turned that place upside down, and came across one last box with these stones in it...

Or something like that....:tongue_sm
