Honestly, I never untie mine. Slip ‘em on. Slide ‘em off. Hence, the frayed area around the heel area.

I get them on and off faster than an Indy 500 pit crew.

The leather is just so.... 80's to me..

If you want the leather, go with the Stan Smiths and the *green* trim. Laver and his speed and hustle needed the mesh upper. Dude worked for a living.

If anyone is interested in the Converse Pro Leather sneaker, this is a pretty dang good price. I got them in Jan. of 2021 at $59 from End Clothing and thought I was stealing them at that price. Now they’re on sale $45. Not bad for this sneaker

I've got a few things from End (a couple pairs of Adidas reissues most recently). Those Pro Leathers look tempting.

Growing up as 1 of 6 kids, we got our sneakers from the bargain bin. If you asked for sneakers with stripes, my mother would hand you a Sharpie.

My new favorite series is currently Ted Lasso on appleTV. Just a nice “feel good” show that’s very well done as the many Emmy Awards it received this year indicates.

While watching one episode, I noticed a pair of New Balance sneakers worn by Brendan Hunt who plays Coach Beard, the perfect foil for Jason Sudeikis who plays Ted Lasso.

Anyway, after catching a glimpse of these sneeks, I searched “on the line” to see which sneaker he was wearing and sure enough there it was:

The New Balance 515.

Now another search on the line….

Today, I heard some footsteps at the front door and….

Very comfortable. The 515 has a soft leather and mesh upper with, wait for it…. suede trim.

So it appears that I have officially ventured into “Dad” sneaker territory.

But I like it.

Now what’s that Belstaff jacket Coach Beard’s wearing?

Maybe I should just listen to the radio from now on.

Quite pleased with the comfort of these sneeks.

EDIT: But not quite pleased enough. I sold this pair (Size 11) and replaced them with a Size 11.5.

Now I am definitely quite pleased.
