Jack Black After Shave

I received a sample pack of Jack Black After Shave Cooling Gel. It went on fine and did a decent job in soothing my face. However, afterward I noticed my face was sticky - not smooth like when I use GFT, T&H, or other aftershaves. The result was not pleasant - so much so that I washed my face to remove it.

My question: Is this normal for the product? I know that at times the sample is not representative of the actual product.

That's exactly what I experienced. I bought a bottle of it because I liked their cream, but it was too sticky for me. Returned it soon after.

If i'm not mistaken, this stuff is almost completely aloe vera gel, so it's going to be tacky. Aloe gel is fantastic for after shave care and is, IMO, the best you can do for your skin in that regards, so it may be worth it to let it sit for a while to let it work its magic, and then wash off the tack after it has mostly absorbed. Given it's ingredients, though, I'm not sure I could justify the price. You could easily mix a half gallon of this stuff at home for the same price.

Thanks for the info. The sample I have is so small along with the writring on it that I could not read the ingredients but just went to their web site to check on the ingredients. They are:
# Sage, rosemary and lavender..
# Aloe leaf extract, chamomile and witch hazel.
# Balm Mint
# Allantoin and glycerin.
