What's new

Its not right and you're all mad!

Tried my first ever menthol cream about ten mins ago. Ingram's. I'm astounded that so many esteemed members like this non-feeling, novocaine-a-like shave! Nearly burned myself with boiling lather while my face felt numb. To sum up- its not right and you're all mad. Maaaaaad I tell ye!

Cool!

Pun intended.:w00t:

Ingram's you say? Never tried it. Wanna share some? :001_smile

Used Ingrams this morning....my experience is vastly different than your experience. Ingram's = menthol goodness.

...menthol goodness.
Ah! You must be the man who sells underwater umbrellas and lifejackets for rubber ducks online! My LIPS went numb, man. In the spirit of B&B integrity I did get a decent shave once the feeling returned. Still feels strange. I don't know, it takes all sorts :001_rolle

I'm kind of with you Steve. I prefer my menthol in my aftershave rather than my cream. Proraso being a very special exception.

The one thing about menthol-y creams is that if your lather is too thick, the concentrated menthol can really burn your skin. You need to make sure there's enough water in there to dilute it to reasonable levels.

I won't be experimenting with this at all. It just felt like sacrilege to shave like that. Thank God it was cheap. Roll on Real Shaving Co cream and MWF

...over-dramatizing menthol much?

It's a slightly cool feeling. If you're feeling tingly numbness, check your blood sugar.

Steve, I've been to Scotland, and I live in Phoenix. Try Ingrahm's when the temp is 110 degrees f. You may change your mind.
If not, send it to me, summer is coming:thumbup:
Yours, Aye,

I love menthol madness-the colder the better. The Shave Dens Iced Subzero SC with extra menthol is so brain-freeze cold it makes my eyes water, and I love it, love it, love it. I follow that shave with Cold water and The Shave Den
Iced Subzero After Shave Milk with, of course, extra menthol.

Yes indeed. Grinning for no reason is a sign of madness is it not?:w00t::w00t::w00t:
:lol::lol::lol:

I never found the menthol creams to be very strong. Proraso was just a slight menthol feel and only really at the end if you use cold water to rinse. Godrej was more powerful and I could feel it during the shave.

Is Ingrams a stronger menthol feel than Godrej?

back in the land of no A/C (aka grad school) shaving with some c.o. bigelow was always nice on those hot night.
