Is this an Aristocrat?

I just picked this up on ebay. Is it an Aristocrat? I am a bit hazy on the difference between a President, Diplomat and Aristocrat.

Yep, I've got the same one in my den. Is there a date code underneath? If not, it's probably '46-'49 (I believe).

How does your Aristocrat shave? How does it compare to a Merkur HD or 40's Super Speed?

Looks like an Aristocrat to me. I'm not positive but I haven't seen a president in gold plating or a Diplomat in Rhodium.

Unfortunately, I don't have an HD or a 40's SS to compare it to, but I've always enjoyed shaving with my 'crat. I like the extra heft it carries compared to my other razors. It was my first razor when I started DE shaving. My new favorite though is my '58 ball-end tech, which I feel gives a much more comfortable and close shave.
