Is this a Gillette Aristocrat

that's not an aristocrat, that's a gold plated, fluted, ball end tech. I have one exactly like it. Minus the Aristocrat case of course.

noticed a LOT of razors being misidentified as aristocrats lately.

Seems we finally got a handle on all the 'fatboy' claims, just to have this spring up.

game of whack-a-mole?

Ball end tech.

...The seller probably doesn't know any better.

I have seen an aristocrat (a 22 or a 66) being sold as a "Gillette Adjustable" as that was what the box said. Sadly I was outbid by someone who also clearly recognised what it was.

So, it is a fraud.

More likely ignorance. While I understand your sentiment, to prove fraud is difficult, and for it to actually be so, would require knowledge on the Seller's part that you don't know he has. On top of that, simply listing a Tech as an Aristocrat may not be enough to actually perpetrate fraud, as any collector seeking an Aristocrat is likely to be able to spot the mismatch.

The Seller probably based the title on what was printed on the box, as many do. And incidentally, both razor and case look to be in great shape, and together are easily worth the $15 one would have paid to buy it and ship it.

Looking at his other items, it appears he does have SOME razor knowledge, but is either confused or being loose with terms (a nice cased Fat Boy marked as a G2 suggests he is aware the code means something to us, while a fat handled Tech is incorrectly listed as a "Fat Boy").

These guys sell lots of different items, and quite probably don't study each category that well, particularly one with as much to it as vintage razors.

It´s a 46-50 Contract Tech in a 48-50 Aristocrat case

Thanks for that. I have that handle that came in a lot an I never could figure out what head it was supposed to go with. It used to be gold, but all the finish is worn off except the nickel down in the grooves of the fluting. It actually looks pretty cool that way. I wouldn't have thought they'd make a gold contract handle, but it works good with a NEW head to make a nice Frankenrazor.
