Is this a cologne?

http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/mens-fragrance/prod170104

I have one of these, but is this useable after shaving with proraso shaving cream and proraso liquid cream AS? That site there says I should spray directly into my face, but that doesn't feel right, after a nice shave, or?

Any tips here? I have no, if any, experience with colognes and smells.

ONE more question, that, I'm sorry, doesn't really belong here I think. I came across the Maxim Antiperspirant against sweating. Does anyone have any experiece with this one? Does it work?

Eau de Toilette is one of the classifications of cologne, based on the amount of aromatics (essential oils, etc.) included. Some EdT's can be used as after-shaves but they will be mostly alcohol, burn like the dickens, and have little or none of the helpful or moisturizing properties (witch hazel, lanolin, glycerin, etc.) of a real after-shave product.

High-jack: That's an interesting observation, and brings to mind one of my own. There are a large number of AS products (e.g. Pinaud-Clubman) that are marketed as AS, but appear to contain none of the goodness that you've described above. Any idea why that is?

That's what an old-school AS was; alcohol and a scent. But usually the concentration of scent in an AS is lower than in a cologne, and considerably lower than in an EdT. You can buy modern (drugstore) colognes with matching aftershaves, and these are almost always just diluted forms of the cologne itself.
