What's new

Is there any hope?

I started this journey about 4 months ago with a pure badger Vulfix (quintessential 'starter' brush). Initially I preferred bowl lathering over face lathering, so I ordered a boar SOC and a Kent BLK8 and figured that's all I would ever need. One thing led to another, I got a shave stick for travel, which opened the door to face lathering. I've started to prefer face lathering now, and although I love the SOC and Kent brushes and definitely enjoy face lathering with them, they don't seem to be the perfect fit.

So here I sit...pondering what face lather brush I will buy next, bringing my collection to 4 brushes. Will my hunger for brushes subside with a custom RV? A Duke 2 in best? WHEN WILL IT END!?!?!?

I am not sure it really ends, but settles to a quite hum in the background. A Rudy Vey with a TGN finest is a great idea!

^^This sounds about right.

I have seen some brush collections that really get out of hand - seriously out of hand - should have had 10 or 11 interventions by this time bad - but I get the impression most settle down a bit. I have reduced my brush collection down to 4 and expect to add just one more to the mix. I have settled in on what specs I enjoy and have removed the excess.

There is no end, my friend.
Look into the Wet Shaving Products 2-band brushes. They are fantastic hair for their price, especially, the Stubby 2-band Finest.
Great backbone, very dense, and extremely soft tips. Good luck.

Just two words: NE-VER.....

Welcome to the wonderful realm of brushdom!

Deruitem, another board member, just made two custom brushes for me and did a fantastic job. Check out my thread "My two new additions..." They both have TGN knots and the small one is a great face latherer.
