What's new

is there an AS that will moisturize your whole face?

Toothpick

Needs milk and a bidet!
probably seems like a silly question but I wouldn't rub Clubman on my forehead after a shave.

i'm looking for an AS that acts as a moisturizer as well. something i can apply after i shave to my whole face: nose, forehead, neck, cheeks, everywhere.

my nose and forehead get awful dry in the winter months and it would be convenient after a shave to just rub the aftershave all over, rather than only the shaven spots.

any suggestions?

thanks!

How about using a product called lotion? You can then put it on your face, arms, legs, feet, etc.

Its a lot cheaper than using aftershave as you want to do.

u need a balm. Nivea makes an excellent one and great at $6. Nivea is a german company that makes personal care products, mainly for men.

I use an aftershave splash (whichever for the day) and then after dry use a great quality facial moisturizer. (jack black at the moment and probably for years to come)
Kiehls is also great. (Facial fuel, spf 20)
i keep a tube of kiehls in the fridge. for those "wake me up days"

I use Baxter of California ASB. It has plenty of moisturizers and no alcohol.

You can rub that good s*** anywhere on your face :biggrin1:

you mean rosewater by burt's bees?

I'm sure the Burt's version would work fine. It contains added glycerin and aloe.
I was referring to basic rosewater hydrosol. The one I use comes from a local Turkish market (and is a steal at $1.99 for 250 ml); they carry both a food-grade and cosmetic-grade version. It has a subtle rose scent with mild astringent and moisturizing properties. From Wikipedia:

"Some people in India also use rose water as spray applied directly to the face for natural fragrance and moisturiser, especially during winters."

interesting. i know burt's bees is available at most retailers, it would be easier to get my hands on.

lots of good suggestions here!

Whatever the balm of the day is for me. If it's good enough for my shaved areas it's just as good or better for the non-shaved areas.

Ben

Get some glycerin at your local pharmacy and add too your A/S and it makes your face feel really hydrated after a shave. It makes alcohol based A/S feel like a balm without the greasy feeling. Start with 3 or 4 drops and add more if needed. Too much can leave your face sticky feeling.

This. Don't ask how I know.

L'Occitane CADE does that for me. You may want to to keep in mind though that most ASBs are heavy, esp on oily skin so they dont necessarily make fantastic moisturisers.
