Is one better than the other? I know they are both good

Ok so here's the deal i may be able to secure only one of these, (financial limitations): Vintage "WADE & BUTCHER" Cut Throat Straight Razor

Etched is 'SPECIAL..Wade and Butcher' Sheffield England. Or: a vintage Puma solingen. The question is, is one generally considered better than the other? Assume both are in reasonable condition.

The short answer is they are both equally valued in my opinion. There are other variables to consider however. Round nose or spike point; how hollow is each one; they are likely neither a wedge, is that important; what are the scales made of / what is their condition. I could go on...

How wide are they? Generally, the Puma has the better resale value given other things being equal. Specifically, a 5/8 Puma will go for more than a 5/8 Wade and Butcher of the same general state of decomposition. If there is a difference in the looks, go with the better looking one.

I have a W&B Special and a Puma.
I like the special a bit more than the puma mainly for the square point and it's shave sharp at the moment.
