Is it just me??? HRB's Brut bad smell?

I have an older bottle of Brut Aftershave from a couple of years ago - 2019, Idlle Labs. Not much left.It smells like the Brut my father wore, and the stuff I've used on and off through the years.

I bought some recently in the new bottles by HRB, and man, does it smell "stanky"!!! To me, it has barely any floral scent, but mostly dark and very musty. Not pleasant at all to me or the boss.

Is it just me? Could I have gotten a bad batch?

For me the new one smells more pleasant, it is not as concentrated and the notes are coordinated in a smoother melody.

I mean, I have a bottle of the most recent Brut in after shave mode, the square-ish bottle...it smells like I remember Brut, to me.
