iPhone 5 Case

Just got the iPhone 5 and I need a case for it. I have my eye on the Otter Box but are there any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Adam

It depends what you are looking for in terms of durability versus a slim profile. I have an Otterbox Defender on my iphone5, which provides a good deal of protection, but is some what bulky. The above mentioned Commuter is slimmer, but looses some of the protection of the Defender. If you need water resistance, Otterbox makes the Armor, which will add a greater level of protection, but comes at the expense of more bulk and weight. Outside of Otterbox you have a lot of choices ranging from simple bumpers on up. A long winded way of asking - what are your criteria for the case?

Otterbox cases are great at protecting the device. Unfortunately, I just can't stand the look of them or any of the other "super protective" cases out there. I stick with a snap-on case with a decent lip around the edge and haven't come across any problems yet.

I'm currently using this and enjoying it, even after several drops.

I recently got the "Book Book" from Twelve South:

Low profile it ain't, but since I always carry a wallet and a phone, it decreases the total volume I have to carry. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but I've actually found it really works for me.

Protection from drops, scratches, dust, while maintaining a slim profile, right now the commuter seems like the best option.

My first case I ever owned for my Iphone......

Called the Ballistic "Hard Core". It is military grade and awesome. Somewhat bulky though. It comes with a clip so you can clip it to your belt. Also has a small clip "stand" that stands your phone up on a table or other surface for hands free video watching. This thing will protect your phone from a 20 foot free fall on concrete, as I tested it myself with an old unused iphone 20 times and took the phone out to inspect and not a scratch or dent or crack on it, still worked too.

This is not me BTW. lol

I prefer ultra slim so I went with a Desmay. My insurance covers our phones so I'm not worried about great protection. With that said, I also have a rarely used Life Proof case for certain situations.

Dizontronic makes great cases and not much moolah..I had em on 3 of my phones..my newest phone cant use a Dizontronic case..they dont make em for it..oh well...but I really recommend Diztronic

I had this on my iPhone.....thought I was the only one lol. Too huge though and I just started putting the uncased phone in my pocket once I realized work will replace my phone. I never put it to the test, but it did seem like that case would prevent almost any harm from coming to your phone.

I'm not a big case guy for my phone. I just have one of those silicone things for my iPhone.

Although if I did opt for one of those cases I'd probably get a Lifeproof. Those things are pretty cool.

I would really recommend life proof. It is a hefty price. I've had this case on my phone for about six months. It's much slimmer than any otter box I've had. Water proof, dust, and shock proof. The rubber cases on otter boxes tend to fall apart or stretch out. And the clips that holds the cases together tend to break as well. Not right away but after a while, about 4 months in my case, everything just wears out.

Lifeproof is awesome, I like that it can be submerged up to 6 feet. The only pain with it is the ear jack.
