Ingredients for Marvy soap?

Yesterday I had a barber shave with William Marvy Company "Deluxe Shaving Soap" - no, not Williams "Mug Shaving Soap". This stuff smells like vanilla.

I added a wiki page, and I found the product page online. But I can't seem to find the ingredients listed out anywhere. I'm wondering if it's tallow-based. Does anyone know?

Note that while I am not particularly interested in adding this soap to my inventory, it is readily available.

I'm pretty sure it's tallow based but I'm looking too. I used it this morning. It's the first puck I've used. I'll post it when I find it.

Yeah... Sorry - I did not realize I was resurrecting such an old thread - not intentional and I know is annoying.

But like you said, there is not a definitive answer which is annoying. I am making it my life's mission to find out LOL

No worries...I've responded to old threads myself many times. Actually I think its kinda fun revisiting older threads.

Regarding Marvy soap. I cant swear to it, but I'd be surprised if it didn't have tallow. I grew up not far from Marvys facility (they specialized in producing those Barber Shop signs) in St. Paul, MN and many of the local barber shops used Marvy shaving soap. I've used it myself and its fine. As I recall it has a faint almond scent and I always thought its performance was similar to Williams. Good luck in your research. I'm curious to know the truth.

It was on par with early Williams or perhaps a little better. It is MUCH better than the recently discontinued Williams.

It is fun! And seeing some of those old faces is really a hoot.

On point, I'm sure it is tallow, someone here recently got a sleeve and maybe he'll know.
