What's new

In spite of promising myself that I was done,

in order to polish off my brush collection, I am lusting for a 24mm, silvertip for around $75.00.

I saw some at Penworks and Rudy Vey.

Are there others I should be looking at ?

thanks

Or maybe I should post this in WTB.

I'd also consider Elite Razors . I have one of these little gems and its a great brush. Short loft and so dense I can balance it on the bristles. It has super soft tips. Bob Quinn will make the handle in any shape and out of any material you wish (wood, acrylic, trustone). There are many many great wet shaving vendors/artisans out there, and customer service is always excellent in this community. That said I have never gotten as good customer service as Bob provides. He is the heavy weight champ in this department. It was almost obscene how much communication went back and forth between us, his first priority was getting me EXACTLY what I wanted, and that he did. He did so much that I offered him a tip (I dont know if thats overboard) that Bob Quinn declined. What a gentleman. He really wouldn't take it. Give him a look.

Another worthy choice is PCWoodcrafts . They also make custom brushes, the knots are not quite the same quality as the Elite Razors, but they are very nice. Just not quite so dense or soft. That said the handles there a very pleasing and versitile hourglass shape. They look a bit unorthodox, but trust me they are a wonderful. They unique contures give you access to double the grips that any of my other brushes offer. I opted for the 28mm here, and it is one of my favorite brushes for creams.

Look at the Vulfix offerings. The 2235 should be well within your price range. Lee's Razors stocks them, as do Classic Shaving.

All these links are great and are actually using almost same materials and price ranges.

I think i will be buying from these guys.

Loric, can you tell me what shape is the brush in this picture ?
It's post # 4, top shelf, 6th from the left. The white one.

I really like it and was looking to make one like it.

I'm not sure of what to call that shape, its a flattened bulb shape I guess, but thats hardly a technical answer.

I love that Brown Mallee Burl and red acrylic brush you picked out it is absolutely stunning. I nearly bought it myself to be 100% honest. The mixture of materials (and color) is unique to say the least. After an exhaustive search of materials, I went with a blue lapis instead. You have excellent taste though.

God help me, but I want all of them.

They are beautiful !

And here I thought this was going to be easy.

In an effort to make your choice as difficult as possible :biggrin1:, I will let you know that I recently picked up the following three customs from Rudy Vey. His communication, work and shipping were excellent. I had him do a "Tulip" butterscotch with a 26 mm two-band Finest knot, a "Chubby" in marbeled butterscotch with 28 mm Silvertip and a "Persian Jar" in redwood burl with 20 mm two-band Finest.
