Imaginary Authors Soft Lawn vs Creed GIT

Hello Gents,

I received a sample of Imaginary Authors Soft Lawn today. It smells quite nice (...but I'm not sure I'd give up my Guerlain Vetiver for it...just a side thought). I tested it out with a quick spray on my wrist and after a couple of hours, it reminded me of Creed GIT? Can anyone with a more accute sense of smell tell me if I'm right or wrong?

Due to a couple of severe nose breaks from years of hockey, my sense of smell isn't great. That's probably why I like simple, linear fragrances.

I have never used GIT, but I like Soft Lawn better than Guerlain Vetiver. This is subjective obviously.

I have taken a break from fragrances recently and the IA line is my first foray back. Soft Lawn is my favorite scent of the line, but on my skin, it is the shortest lasting. The others have incredible longevity on me lasting hours. Soft Lawn is good for a few hours then dies down. I still like it a lot and am considering a full bottle purchase of one of these scents and Soft Lawn is on the short list.

Great post! I recently got some samples and tried Soft Lawn. And, yes, I instantly thought of Creed GIT. My sniffer is intact, but I wonder if anybody tried a side-by-side comparison of the two....

I also grabbed a sample of The Cobra and The Canary. I haven't tried it yet though. I like woodsy, grassy, smoky, leather type fragrances it seems.

Woody, Grassy and Smokey are all characteristics of scents I like. I am usually not find of leather, but Cobra and Canary is different and I like it. The Cape Heartache is "smokey" but also has a real sweetness to it. To me, the Cape Heartache is the most unique of the bunch, but The Soft Lawn is one I could see wearing daily.

Thanks! I have an old bottle of GIT that I use in the summer but it fades on me fast, it seems. On the other hand, Soft Lawn seemed to really last on me. To my damaged nose, it smelled quite similar to GIT.

I dont get the same notes what so ever. Two fresh green type scents, but not siblings. I do enjoy them both.

I used to wear Tom Ford Grey Vetiver as a daily fragrance and I ran out. Then someone suggested Guerlain Vetiver so I bought it but haven't really worn it yet. Soft Lawn is very nice though.

So I wore creed git this morning. Just went out a second ago, and sprayed the soft lawn on since the git was gone. There is no resemblance in the two what so ever. Git is much fresher, and cleaner. I'm actually not that big of a fan of the soft lawn.

Case closed. Thanks for doing the comparison. I suppose my nose can't distinguish between fragrance genres very well. I can say the longevity battle seems to be won by Soft Lawn on my skin. Either that or I just stop detecting GIT after a couple hours when I wear it.

Creed doesn't last long on me as well unfortunately. The only thing that lasts on me is imaginary authors, which for me, they don't have a scent that I could wear everyday. Also Burberry lasts on me as well, the only two houses that I found that last on me.

I wear Creed Bois du Portugal as a daily fragrance. It stays close to the skin, which is good for work, and has great longevity on me.

I broke out my sample of The Cobra and the Canary today. I really, really like it so far.
