What's new

I'm thankful for.

I just got done cleaning my 1904 Double Ring, dated 1904, #38815. Wow did it turn out great. I used baking soda and tin foil and polished off with a little bit of Flitz. With it being close to Thanksgiving, I thought to myself how Thankful I am for finding this razor in the wild. So my question to you guys is what "shaving" related thing are you thankful for?

I'm thankful that my mother saved her Dad's '47 Super Speed! I complaining to her about a junk razor I had bought off of eBay, and that I didn't want to take another chance on something I might not even like (silly me!). She said, "Wait right here..." and produced my Grandfather's razor from upstairs. She said she knew she held onto it for so long for a good reason! Its my daily shaver, and my favorite of the three I have :)

Beyond food and warmth it is all gravy. I am thankful for living in a society where we have time/opportunity to discuss shaving and the technology where we can easily share and preserve knowledge for those that may not have had the opportunity to learn from a father/grandfather/older brother/uncle. For those that have taken time to document proper technique and answer questions. And most of all, I am thankful for all of the members that take time to mod/stew the forums.

I am thankful to a friend who took me to Art of Shaving store a couple of months ago. That started a journey which led me to B&B among other great things!

I'm thankful for getting into wet shaving, my life is a million times better now that I have a hobby instead of a chore!

I'm thankful that about a year ago my GF (now ex, not my decision) came home a little late from work after having stopped at the antique store. She had bought me a MINT GEM 1912 and a vintage (full) lightbulb shaped bottle of Skin Bracer. :)

I'm thankful that that double-ring cleaned up so well!
I'm also thankful for this animation. It still cracks me up!:badger:

Most of all, I am thankful for my wonder wife, two little girls, and all of my family! I wish we could all be together for the holidays.

The shaving related thing I'm most thankful for is my wonderful wife who allows my AD's to go crazy and evens plays along.
