What's new

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

So, it's been a long while since I've done much of anything on here. I blame my newest addiction, to be honest. My new addiction? Oh, it's The Big Bang Theory.

I was just curious to see if anyone else was as enthralled by this show as much as I am. Any thoughts, gentlemen?

Good to see you around Jim!

Yes, love the big bang theory. The only thing that I can't stand is the opening intro!

Hey Luc, long time no see!

Really? The opening intro? I like it better than most opening songs on these days. Anyway, who's your favorite character?

Yes, I usually mute the opening song...

Sheldon of course, he make too much sense sometimes...

I love this show. The Bare Naked Ladies do the song at the beginning, and some weeks I'll listen to it an others I'll skip past it. Unfortunately I see a little of myself in each of the characters. Except Penny, but that's a different story.

Great Show....

THey are supposedly moving it to Thursday Nights to go head to head with Community come next season.

+1000 on this.

My younger son got me into HIMYM, and BBT followed. Being and engineer I like the geeky stuff. The guys remind me of some of the folks I went to college with.

JimBow, I'm glad to see you back again! :thumbup1:

Love it.

The scarey thing is you to be a bit nerdy to get the humour and find it funny.

( I laugh a lot  )

I liked it a fair bit until recently....Sheldon's lack of depth has started to grate on me - he's the same joke over and over again (WE GET IT - YOU'RE A GENIUS BUT HAVE NO SOCIAL SKILLS!!!!) Although Howard hasn't that much more depth, he's used sparingly enough to make him the funniest character on the show.

I live in Australia, so the two shows aren't on at the same time, but if I was forced to choose between Community and TBBT, Community would win hands down. Although only through its first season (and its characters being very 2-dimensional as well in the start of the season) this show is incredible. I rate it as highly as the Office and Always Sunny.

Pierce's racism/sexism/general innapproriateness is hilarious - when he "read" Jeff's mind as the Cookie Crisp wizard, well, I'm grinning just typing about it.

I love the Big Bang Theory as well. I watch and rewatch the episodes regularly (it really can be addicting!). I got my girlfriend into it also--we both think Sheldon is hilarious.

BAZINGA!

I think the writers may have gotten similar complaints--in the season finale it looks like he's getting a love interest. That, or it's just one big bazinga (sp?)

Love the show but... we share an office with the web development department, whose only topics of conversation are superheroes, superhero films, American television sciencefiction shows, fastfood and World of Warcraft. Each of the characters in TBBT is represented in the department (except Penny unfortunately), and it's like sharing an office with a crèche.

I have just gone through a disciplinary hearing for suggesting that they might want to STFU for a bit. I was 'acquitted' when I revealed my comment followed an hour and half of them discussing the forthcoming Smurfs 3D movie, the genesis of smurfs and whether the film would stick to canon.

Anyway, some great visual gags in the series - especially the recreation of the Time Machine, and the all action montage of Sheldon and Raj working to 'The Eye of the Tiger'.

Really funny show. My friends and I are pretty much all represented by characters on the show. It's kind of funny, I'm mostly like Leonard I suppose and I roomed with a guy mostly like Sheldon during all of college.

I do wonder how Leonard, given his troubled relationship with his mother, ended up living with a male version of her.
