What's new

I'm ammused.

Now thats the manly art of shaving at its best, im gonna go make a shaving "cocktail" stick some fruit in it and a lil umbrella.....

That guy is on crack, he has no idea what he is talking about!!

Did he seriously just tell men who have extremely sensitive skin that they should only shave Against the Grain so as to reduce irritation, and ingrown hairs??

Wow, just Wow!!

Youtube is overpopulated with self proclaimed idiot experts!! :001_rolle:001_rolle:angry::angry:

I managed to listen to the first 'tip' about lather being worthless, and decided that my time is not worthless, so I hit 'pause' and closed the link. This man would not survive the shavepocolypse. He would be a hairy ape.

Looks to me like he's proclaimed himself an expert because he make a living by cutting hair and shaving faces...but if his customers want M3 cartridges and brushless creams well, they are paying.

I wonder if he might claim that a fancy-schmancy handle makes the cartridge razor perform better?

There are near weekly reports of people getting horrific quality shaves at a Barber Shop. Being paid for your services doesn't necessarily equate to being a professional.

If it did, then every chef is created equal, and they all serve the same top quality wonderful food.:lol:

Actually, that's exactly what being a professional means, being paid for your services as means of livelihood. What you mean is the being a professional doesn't equate to being good or efficient at your vocation. I'd like to comment further but I have a Nitpickers Anonymous meeting to go to. :tongue_sm

I work in the computer field, I have over 15 years experience with computer repair, computer networking, and customer service. Many of those around me greatly value my opinion. I am a professional, and my professional reputation means a lot of to me.

The man working down the street, out of his apartment, repairing PCs is also paid for his services. He knows enough to fake his way through, but is not deserving of the title "Professional" in my book.

My comment was only meant in jest. We all know what you mean.

Uhh this guy needs to learn a few things more before he calls himself an expert, really shaving against the grain for sensitive skin. And you can use a foam or a gel to make for some nice razor glide, though he does make a point that it can get in the way as in clogging the razor blades. Hence why Gillette put a snow plow instrument on their proglide razor.

hey guys, noob here.

I'm getting ready for my first shave. Going to go against the grain with no lather, since my skin is sensitive. Will post back with results!

That jumped out at me as well. As soon as he said this his value as an "expert" was lost.

Make sure you use a cartridge razor. The more blades, the more cutting action! :thumbup1:

Well, I have basically nothing to do today, so I watched a couple other videos from this guy and these are basically marketing videos for the Grooming Lounge in D.C.

With terrible advice like that how do they expect to entice people to visit?

EDIT: Also, who advertises what they sell by saying its unnecessary? I mean he says you don't need lather, but they sell lathering products! What a terrible business model.
