What's new

I'm a Believer now: Arko Stick

Well I will say that I am now a believer in the face lathering method... I ordered a stick of the Arko with my latest blade order and it is the first lather I have really gotten to work well... Omega cream was meh, it worked but nothing special; some pink block I got (think it was Van der Hagen..) was utterly crap and required me to add a little can-o-crap to get a decent base... a chemistry experiment in every shave... ; this stuff just smear it on and add water.... instant foam... And not to mention it smells damn good! That other stuff either smelt like crap or in the case of the Van der stuff, day old 110* weather crap... I didn't get that really potent lemon smell that everyone complains about, but rather something along the lines of Irish Spring soap. A lovely smell. Not to mention I was able to get the closest shave to date; I was used to getting a crappy shave, but with proper lubrication (...lets see how many sexual innuendos inadvertently come up... up to 2 already :D ) my face actually kinda felt like that first shave as a kid where your face kinda feels naked, sensitive even.

Just figured I'd share my impressedness of such a cheap but very effective soap. +Cheap, +Smooth, + Scent; -Only place to get it is Amazon (atleast around here), and its an add-on item unless you want to buy it 12 at a time.

Let others say what they will.

Arko is ROCK solid when it comes to performance.

Stick it in a Penhaligon's wood bowl and you would hear everyone raving about it....

Show em the Arko guy on the wrapper and they turn their noses up.

Unacceptably Lasering Chicken Giblets?
For some reason I passed up shaving with my RRNA Don Marco tonight and chose Arko.
a very nice shave to say the least. Great lather, great cushion. Just a solid shave stick.
my whole family loves the smell.

Welcome aboard !!!

I am gonna buy some from an authentic Turkish store in Northern Cyprus in a few days time.. shave like the locals I say...

When I travel Arko is the first soap in the DOPP bag. I know that no matter where I am. No matter what I have to deal with. No matter how uncomfortable the shaving conditions will be. My shaving lather will be the one rock solid thing that I will not have to worry about.

I love ARKO so much, I would eat it. For real though, I do not use anything else. I have Proraso and some RazoRock but they just collect dust.

Arko is a permanent reisdent of my dopp kit. I purchased some empty stick tubes for my Arko. Mash the soap into the container and away I go.

I made a HUGE mistake with my Arko stick. I let my 21 year old son use it. I don't think I will be seeing it again. That's okay. I'll just have to buy more! (insert evil laugh here):devil2:

I love Arko, the wife likes the smell too but it can be strong sometimes. Because of that it has another function in my house: I keep a half opened stick next to my bed to make the bedroom smell fresh, the lemon scent does a great job at keeping the mosquito's away from me when I sleep.
When the one in use is gone I take the one from the bedroom to the bathroom to shave with (mellowed out by then) and replace the one in the bedroom with a new one.
Such an inexpensive soap that works great and doubles as a air refresher/mosquito repellent, can you get a better deal than that???

This may open a can of worms, but Arko smells a lot better than Tabac.

Everybody down to the pond. We got a dunk'in to attend to....
