I've never been to a good one, of course I haven't been recently since nothing but bad experience years ago. Never heard anyone talk about how good they are either.

Why go to any fast food chain or any other restaurant chain for that matter?

It’s the trend in American- making everything generic. These chains squeeze out local mom and pop places. Every place begins looking like every other place. Then we have the relatively new retail trend that attempts to recreate small town Main Street. It is nothing but a bland Walt Disney version of Main Street.

Saturday afternoons we always walk to the library then pop across the street to one of the local roaster's shops for an espresso, 500m one way, short walk. Heading east and closest to the house, two chains, the ubiquitous Subway then Tim Horton's, after that indy land, Poké, Stoneroad's Bar & Grill, Caribbean Canadian Restaurant, Speedy Sub, Concession Pizza, Rannosh, Relay which is the coffee shop and next to it, Halal Fried Chicken then Eng's Chinese Restaurant which has been there at least since the late 70's. Keep going east and the indy's continue to pop up, on the side streets more, just a couple blocks in one tiny neighbourhood.

When del Toro was filming his last movie here he was dining and reviewing all over town and did at least one in the neighbourhood, an indy breakfast brunch place a little further east of the coffee shop.
