What's new

I now see the value of a shave stick

I am finding out that with my visual impairment that I am really enjoying the use of a shave stick. For me the use of a shave stick is the easiest to use and gives me the most feedback through feel and touch. Through the feel of the shave stick, friction or the lack of it, and face lathering a shave stick seems to work well for me. The next best thing for me is using a soap puck and face lathering. The worst thing for me is using a cream and lathering in a bowl so I gave that up totally.
I only have three shave sticks. I have Irish Moos, Arko, and VDH which has been melted in to a plastic shave stick. It is funny how you learn what works best for you and how you can make certain things work for you or make them work better. I get a better shave with VDH in a stick than loading from a puck, so I just run with it.

Sticks are great because it makes it easy to tell when you have used enough soap.
Other good ones that are reasonably priced are UK Palmolive, Speick and Valobra.
